Mortgage Training Manager

The Mortgage Training Manager will be responsible for creating a culture of learning and facilitate solutions for the residential lending teams on policies, processes, and systems. The successful individual will actively contribute to the development, implementation and management of programs & solutions focused on manager effectiveness, leadership pipeline development, employee engagement, building a high performance culture and onboarding & assimilation. The role will regularly assess program effectiveness and make improvements as needed to accomplish the desired result. The Mortgage Training Manager will partner closely with department leaders and subject matter experts to assess needs and develop/deploy innovative solutions using a variety of methods including learning by experience, learning through others and formal learning (virtual & in-person) to achieve maximum impact.

Job Type: Full-time

Location: On-site at our Grand Rapids, MI and East Lansing, MI locations.

3+ days at East Lansing, MI location.

Provide mortgage role specific training to all new hires to properly integrate them into production as it relates to core company applications and their role
Provide ongoing training on existing applications, new applications and updates as provided by leadership
Support departmental initiatives and identify ways to enhance training effectiveness
Contribute to the overall success of the company by identifying ways to continuously improve the learning process
Leverage LMS as a vehicle to provide targeted learning paths based on identified needs
Consult with Subject Matter Experts as needed when developing new training curriculum
Monitor and respond to the training queue in a timely manner and solve end-user issues
Keep company intranet up to date with training materials
Escalates on-going training concerns to leadership
Able to design and implement training solutions
Keep up to date with mortgage lending practices
Design and develop cutting edge learning solutions that include, but are not limited to, instructor led training (ILT) (PPT presentations) and alternative learning solutions.
Develop and organize training manuals, policies and procedures, multimedia visual aids and other educational materials
Direct the implementation of policies and procedures related to various training programs for the employees of the organization
Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
Adept at building relationships and working in a team environment with proven track record of sharing ideas, providing encouragement, building on other's ideas, giving due appreciation, and bringing out the best in others
3+ years' experience with mortgage lending required
2+ years' experience mortgage training implementation and delivery experience both live and virtually preferred.
3+ years managing a mortgage training team preferred
Experience using Loan Origination System - Encompass is a plus.
Experience with Adobe Suites including Captivate
Expert user in Microsoft Office Suite including Power Point, Visio and Teams
Knowledge of teaching and training mortgage principles, practices and procedures including individuals, groups, face-to-face and distance learning.
Adept at getting and maintaining attention/involvement of classroom training in both in-person and remote training.
Experience developing and conducting instructor-led training both live and virtually.
Strong project management and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
