Owens Corning's Global Information Services (GIS) provides a technology platform that supports the company's growing global business needs. The Global Security Architect is a critical member of the Owens Corning Information Security team. This team has global responsibility for ensuring the appropriate security processes, policies, architectures and technologies are in place to support Owens Corning's business goals and objectives.

Aligned with OC's Digital initiatives and strategies, the Global Security Architect is a key role in driving the security of Owens Corning adopted and future architectures. Primary responsibilities of this role are to design, build, test and implement security solutions and controls compliant with approved architecture frameworks and standards.

Working with peer and senior GIS, security, and business leaders, the Global Security Architect will provide consultative guidance, develop actionable recommendations, deliver and maintain cloud and general security architectures aligned with corporate and business strategy.

The Global Security Architect must pass a thorough background check and be clear of any technology related crimes or violations of security policies. He/she may be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to interviews and must agree to random monitoring of network activity to ensure compliance with corporate information security and other policies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

General Security Architecture ( 80%);
  • Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats.
  • Create solutions that align enterprise security architecture frameworks and standards with overall business and security strategy.
  • Perform security assessments, identify gaps in existing security architecture, and recommend changes or improvements.
  • Architect security solutions for common IT deployments and projects in on-premise/hybrid/cloud environments.
  • Act as a Security Advisor to the GIS and Business groups along with tracking ongoing projects, integrations, deployments, decommission and technical guidance implementation of new technologies.
  • Proactively assesses risk exposure in business operations as it relates to the technology and make recommendation to address and minimize those risks.
  • Provide security guidance and oversight for processes and technology
  • Utilize Owens Corning's project management tools to develop and implement security solutions which reduce risk or enhance Owens Corning's security platforms
  • Participate in risk assessments for new technologies, projects and SaaS reviews.
  • Document security requirements and controls for protecting information, systems, and technology assets.
Cloud Security ( 20%);
  • Work closely with the Cloud COE and OC's digital team to ensure security standards and cloud architectures are design, built and governed securely.
  • Recommends, designs, and develops integrated security solutions for multiple systems and projects in both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Consult with business users to define requirements and guide decisions to the best outcome from a variety of cloud options.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years' experience in the IT field with concentration around solution design and strategy development.
  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred. Significant industry experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Understanding of cloud cybersecurity standards, frameworks and best practices.
  • Knowledge of and experience designing, architecting, and securing IaaS, Pass, and SaaS cloud deployments.
  • Experience in identifying gaps in existing architectures.
  • Experience in designing security architectures to mitigate threats.
  • Strong technical background in core security architectures and concepts.
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS) and network security methodologies.
  • Knowledge of remote access technology concepts.
  • Knowledge of risk management processes and experience in conducting risk assessments.
  • Experience with Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
  • A solid understanding of both the network and system integration with the ability to troubleshoot when issues arise
  • Experience and understanding of cloud microservices, architectures and interconnectivity; APIs, account design, networking, subnet, segmentation strategies, logging and monitoring, remote access, service integration, audit logging, and metrics.
  • Experience with, and working knowledge of complex IT systems and best practices, and authentication protocols.
  • Experience and strong foundational knowledge on Active Directory (AD)
  • Competent in project management theory, knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques.
  • Previous experience developing communications plans for multiple audiences in a global environment.
  • Ability to deal successfully with multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be well versed/experienced with IT policies and procedures, methodologies, technology standards, protocols, and roadmaps.
  • Able and available to travel domestically or internationally as required.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
  • Operational Technology security knowledge is a plus.
  • Previous experience in Information security, Risk Management, or similar fields. Experience directly relating to security and/or risk management applied to cloud technology is a plus.
  • Working knowledge, experience and solid understanding of AWS/Azure and other cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of Purdue model, OSI model, ISO, ISA, NIST and IEC standards as applied to security
  • Familiar with common scripting languages (Python, VBscript, Java, PowerShell & etc.)
  • Experience with automation toolsets
  • Experience creating communications in a variety of platforms, technologies, and methods.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both IT and business partners to assess needs, propose technology solutions, and achieve business benefits.
  • Proven ability to be successful within a global environment. Ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures.
  • Convey relevant information clearly with confidence. Understanding others through active listening.

  • Experience in supplier relationships, confidence, and presence to deal with suppliers both internal and external and, on-shore or off-shore.
  • Demonstrated experience leading resolution of advanced technical issues in conjunction with and on the behalf of internal teams and external providers.
