An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teaching assistant to work in a large academy primary school in Oldham (OL8). The primary school need a suitably qualified teaching assistant to work in their Early Years class due to a long -term sickness this September

- Monday - Friday 8:30pm - 3:15pm

- Full time position

- Supportive and exciting EYFS team,

- Pay starting from £350 - £400 per week,

- Earnings paid weekly

Working closely with the class teacher and staff within the Early Years Foundation Stage team, you will support learning and development of children in the school's Reception class. The school have 2 reception classes and a separate Nursery class in the unit made up of a small cohort of 15 children who attend for the full school day.

Within the Reception class you will be expected to:

- Support the children in learning through play and interacting with their surroundings.

- Under the guidance of the class teacher you will support children with short independent activities and be responsible for providing feedback to the teacher.

- Encourage communication and interaction with adults and peers to facilitate acquisition of new vocabulary

- Assist pupils with eating, dressing and hygiene, as required

- Supervise the children throughout the day adhering to the school safeguarding principles.

The children in EYFS are aged between 3-5 years old therefore the successful candidate will ideally have experience supporting children in an early year setting. This role would be ideal for teaching assistants who have previously worked in EYFS, individuals who have worked in a private day nursery, or may have experience in wider childcare roles outside of education.

The school is a large school with over 300 children with a great reputation for providing a happy, caring, and safe environment for their pupils in early years. The school were last rated as "Good" by OFSTED as they secure good outcomes for their children in EYFS. They have around 90% of students with EAL, so experience of working at similar schools would be advantageous.
